In the TV series Space 1999 created by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson the crew of Moon Base Alpha are told by they computer that a human decision is required when they art trying to figure out if they can get back to Earth orbit or not. They decide they will not try.

Ever wanted to work on a moon base no matter what may happen. Well why not work in reconnaissance and fly amongst the stars.
