The Sapper Tab is a military badge of the United States Army which was authorized on June 28, 2004 by the Army Chief of Staff, General Peter Schoomaker. To be awarded the Sapper Tab, a service member may or may not hold the military occupation specialty code (MOS) designation as a Combat Engineer (Sapper), but must have graduated from the Sapper Leader Course (SLC), which is operated by the U.S. Army Engineer School at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. The school falls under HHC, 35th Engineer Battalion, 1st Engineer Brigade. This award is retroactive back to the graduates of the first SLC on June 14, 1985

The 46th Infantry Regiment ("The Professionals") is a unit in the United States Army that served in World War II and Vietnam.

U.S. Army Armored Infantry Battalion (1943-45) The Armored Infantry Battalion, which consisted of 1 HQ & HQ Company, 3 Rifle Companies (this), 1 Service Company and 1 Medical Detachment. Each U.S. Army Armored Division had 3 Armored Infantry Battalions in addition to 3 Tank Battalions, 3 Artillery Battalions and 1 Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron as their combat arms elements.

The 36th Infantry was formed on 1 July 1916 at Brownsville, Texas from elements of the 4th Infantry, 26th Infantry and 28th Infantry.It was assigned to the 12th Division on 5 July 1918, relieved from the 12th Division 31 January 1919, and inactivated at Fort Jay New York on 13 October 1921. Redesignated the 36th Infantry (Armored) on 15 April 1941 and reassigned to the Third Armored Division. On 1 July 1942 it was redesignated the 36th Armored Infantry Regiment. The regiment was originally constituted on 9 July 1918 in the Regular Army as the 68th Infantry Regiment, The 68th Infantry was reconstituted on 1 October 1933 in the Regular Army as the 68th Infantry (Light Tanks), The 1st and 2nd Battalions were activated on 1 January 1940 at Fort Benning, Georgia, less Reserve personnel, by redesignation of the 1st through 7th Tank Companies of the 1st through 7th Divisions. The remaining active elements of the regiment were redesignated as the 68th Armored Regiment

The charges allude to the history of the geographical area to which the organization was allotted originally.
