Free Church of Scotland Assembly Hall, Edinburgh, Scotland. A 19th century church (also known as St Columba's Free Church), situated just off the Royal Mile at the junction of Castlehill, Johnston Terrace and Upper Bow. Designed by Thomas Hamilton, built between 1843-5 with alterations in 1908 by Thomas Ruskin. An Ecclesiastical building still in use as such. Originally called the Free St John's Church, built immediately after the Disruption of 1843. Hamilton's pulpit was sketched by Ruskin, who thought it an 'abomination.' Just to the south of Dunfermline's High Street lies one of Scotland's most unusual churches. The Abbey Church of Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland is two very distinct churches, joined in the middle. The effect is unexpected but attractive. The Abbey Church, as the name suggests, was the church serving Dunfermline Abbey. A church probably already existed on this site in 1070, when King Malcolm III married Queen Margaret. Margaret liked Dunfermline so much she set up a Benedictine foundation here. This was later transformed by her son King David I into what was intended to become the most important abbey in Scotland. Work was started in 1128 on the Abbey Church and the nave still survives as the western half of the building on view today.

It has a presence in approximately 100 countries around the world.[1] Its leaders are Moon (prior to his death) and his wife Hak Ja Han, whom their followers honor with the title "True Parents".

I discovered this small historic church in the rural community of Uigg (pronounced U-igg) during my travels of Prince Edward Island, Canada. The elegant simplicity of the Uigg Baptist Church is a testament to the Scottish pioneers who settled the area in 1829, coming from their home in Uig, Isle of Skye. Constructed in 1874, it has the original clapboard siding, with sets of 3 Gothic Revival windows complete with glazing bars and original glass on each side. It is registered as a Historic Place, in the province of Prince Edward Island. St Pauls Parish Charlottetown PEI by Debra Martz This historical anglican church was constructed in 1896, marking the third building on the same location. The initial structure was built in 1769, making this parish the oldest on the Island. The church has a sturdy exterior composed of large sandstone blocks. And just look at how green things are. We were here in October, a few days before Canada's Thanksgiving, to see the colorful fall foliage. But, nature has its own time schedule! Looking across the River Thames from the Thames Path just upriver from Marlow, Buckinghamshire, to the parish church of All Saints at Bisham in Berkshire. This image, from my original photograph, is produced in the style of an oil painting. . The church has a superb late Norman tower which dates from about 1175 and is here seen framed by trees and reflected in the river. Nearby is Bisham Abbey, the National Sports Centre.
