A paraglider steadies his chute as he prepares to takeoff from Rosin Park, near Beechmont in the Gold Coast Hinterland. What a place to just sit and watch as both paragliders and hang gliders took off and then circled around above us!

Since we didn't have any set plans for this day -- except for driving to our next apartment -- we took the long way around, meaning we took a random road we found up the east side of Lake Pukaki (the main road to Mount Cook goes up the west) and drove until we felt like turning around. We found plenty of isolated spots along the lake and only had to share them with a few other people. This view was my favourite, even if it meant climbing up a large boulder with a bunch of rather worried family members looking on!

Here's a bit of an abstract one, but it really represents our morning. A gorgeous sunrise and a lot of waves from the incoming tide that seemed determined to take us (and our cameras) out to sea with it!

The beautiful scene that greeted us in the Tekapo Domain after we ate dinner nearby. The lupins lined the lakeshore for as far as we could see, the clouds were perfect after a day of drizzly rain, and the lake was a perfect shade of blue.

Honey finally decides to come out and see what all the fuss is about. She is one of the most famous 'hairy coos' in Scotland and lives at the Trossachs Woolen Mill near Stirling.

Because my family and I didn't have our own mountainbikes, we decided to take the easy way down Coronet Peak once we'd been to its summit -- that is, we went back down the chairlift we came up! I just couldn't believe how stunning the views were -- even this one, which included a man-made pond that really shouldn't have been as beautiful as it was!

One of many deserted beaches along the coast of Big Sur -- the difference here being you could actually get to this beach (if you owned the private property it was a part of). This was one of many equally spectacular views along the jaw-dropping Pacific Coast Highway in Big Sur.

Once we crossed Arthur's Pass on the road between the South Island's west and east coasts, the landscape drastically changed. Gone were the lush green forests of the west coast; they had been replaced with an almost arid, mottled brown landscape. As you would expect with NZ, though, it was still stunningly gorgeous!

We went to Fingal Head (on the Tweed River in northern New South Wales) to take full moon seascapes. We ended up getting some impressive storm shots instead. Luckily the rain was south of us so we didn't get soaked as well!

When we traveled to Mexico City, it was important to visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe for my husband and his family. They often pray to her and it was extremely special to go there ourselves. Any proceeds generated from these products will be donated to charity.

I could see storm clouds ahead of me on the highway as I headed towards Woolongong, so when I saw a sign that said "Sublime Point Lookout," I immediately turned off to see if there was a clear view ahead. I couldn't believe the thunderhead that greeted me there -- one that was so big and full of lightning that I only snapped a few shots (and didn't dare pull out a tripod) before it was nearly right overhead.

When we headed out to Dicky Beach on the morning I took this photo, I wasn't feeling confident that we'd see much colour at all. Then the skies opened up and the sunrise turned into one of the most amazing I'd ever seen. It was special to see a sunrise this good over the SS Dicky, since the shipwreck has now disintegrated to the point that the council will be removing it in a matter of months.
