George 6th Post Box Pins and Buttons

Watercolour of a George 6th Box Box in the UK. The boxes were cast in iron with the monogram of the sitting King.King George was on the throne from 1936-1952. 16 years.

A pic which I took a few years ago of an lovely old post box close to Penshurst place. From the reign of King George, it looks quite ornate with the iron hinges. Interestingly a scene from the movie Sherlock Holmes and the Pyramid of Fear was filmed close by in the church yard.

This is the sign of a GR post box in the village of penshurst,kent, in the south east of England this was installed during the reign of king george as you can see it has a lot of character with the rust.
