As early as 1892 New Mexico started referring to itself as ' The Sunshine State '. The first New Mexico license plates issued in 1932 had the nickname stamped along the bottom. Then around 1970, Florida decided " nah, were the sunshine state! ' and that was the end of New Mexico's nickname. Now the state is referred to as ' The Land of Enchantment '. A view of Hasting as seen from the top of East Cliff. This is a digital art production as an oil painting from my original photograph. Hastings is a seaside town on England's south coast in East Sussex. Its name is synonymous with the Battle of Hastings in 1066 although this happened a little to the north at Senlac Hill. In medieval times it became one of the Cinq Ports. It now boasts the largest beach-based fishing fleet in the UK based on The Stade just below here.

The discovery photograph of the positron, the positive version of the electron & the first antimatter particle to be discovered. The cloud chamber photo was taken in 1932 by US physicist Carl Anderson. It shows the track of a positive particle that enters the chamber from below. The particle is known to be positive because of the way it bends in the chamber's magnetic field; & it is proved to be moving up the picture because it loses energy & curves more in the magnetic field after traversing the 6 mm thick lead plate in the middle. But the track is too faint to be caused by a proton; it was exactly like an electron's track; it had to be the predicted positron.

Chandler’s Wharf, also known as the Calder-Thorpe Warehouse, was built in 1884. This vernacular style warehouse was built for Phila Lazarus Calder (1806-1888), who inherited the property from her father, Aaron Lazarus (1771-1841). The property remained in the Lazarus family until its purchase in 1910 by W. B. Thorpe & Company, dealers in coal, wood, and builder’s supplies, which used it and the adjacent Rankin & Martin warehouse until 1943. In 1978, the two warehouses were rehabilitated into the eclectic collection of shops, galleries, and offices that it is today. is a shopping complex in a renovated 19th Century river wharf building.
