Jungle Cruise Skips can have a wide range of styles. But Sarcastic Skips always seem to stick in the minds of our guests. Sometimes it's hard not to slip into a darker mood, particularly when you have hours of glassy eyed tourists and international guests who don't get the jokes or the language. I *try* not to get bitter... but it happens

Everyone who goes to a theme park knows about this amazing frozen treat. Vegan, fat free, and tastes like pickles! Dill Whip fever has taken the country by storm, and when the chips are down, this is the bread and butter of many people's treats.

Hippos and guns. Guns and hippos. So much of a Jungle Skipper's life seems to revolve around those two things. Well, that and bad jokes. Still, the fraternity of Skippers is 60+ years old, and it never leaves your blood. (As you may have noticed, much of our work revolves around Disneyland’s Jungle Cruise Skipper culture. We loved Disneyland's Jingle Cruise, for the 3 years it was with us, but for the last 2 years it has been gone and we wanted to put out a shirt to help get it back. So, if you loved Jingle, wear this shirt to show your solidarity for our hope for it's return...

One question of fans of Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room is "What happened to Rosita"? Well, now we know... Rosita was a very unhappy cockatoo. She was shunned by her sisters, Collette, Suzette, Mimi, Gigi, Fifi and Josephine. She was shut out of the show, and she went to live a life of crime and revenge... And now she has a very famous roadside taco stand where she serves up revenge against the object of her ire, the parrots who put her out of show business... with a side of cilantro.

Well... We love hippos over here at the Jungle Crews, and this design popped out of our heads like a hippo popping out of the water. It looks amazing on a bunch of different colors, and it's basically a CMYK registration error that just looked damn cool. Enjoy it!

We all know that mankind's journey through evolution has been a long process? But what is at the far end of that? What is the pinnacle of evolution? Well, I think we all know that, don't we?

Skippers like things. We really like things that have to do with being a Skipper. That's exactly what this shirt is about. There's no other meaning, no reference to any popular culture or TV show. It's just that we're Skippers, and we like our things.

Not only is Bertha the most famous elephant in the Indian Elephant Bathing Pool, she is also skilled in her after hours activities. After years of bringing the beats to the Jungle Pool Party, she is now doing sets at a local night club, Sam’s Place. She’s definitely the only DJ who ever scratches the vinyl with their nose.

To a Jungle Cruise Skipper, there's nothing like the feeling when you step into a bote. (Sure, some people call it a boat, but we know how to spell it.) It's a magical feeling, where you feel utterly comfortable to be yourself, and you know that you belong. In other words... home.

There's a joke at the Jungle Cruise at Disneyland... it goes something like this... (Pulling into the Hippopotamus pool at night...) "Now, we have had a miraculous thing happen right here at the Jungle Cruise, right here in the Hippo pool. Just a few days ago, a baby hippo was born here in the Hippo pool. And on quiet nights, like tonight, when the moon is shining, you can sometimes hear the baby hippo calling out to it's mother... Why don't you just listen. Nice and quiet now..." <long pause> "HEY MA!" "There it is folks... did you hear it." Now, that's a total inside joke, and one that barely anyone will get, but I had a friend who wanted it on a shirt, so I made it, and here it is...

Sadly, the Hippotarians didn't win the 2016 election, but we can all stand behind them. Actually, based on the amount of poo that is thrown by a Hippo, standing behind one is a pretty bad idea. Still, there's always 2020, and we can stand beside our Hippo brethren as they get the political clout they deserve.

The African Veldt at the Jungle Cruise has all sorts of famous African animals on it. This Jungle Cruise joke is one of the more subtle jokes that's been around for more than a few decades, but I kept getting requests for it, so I figured I'd do a helvetica list for it.

There's a big generational gap between Jungle Cruise Skippers. The split happens in the late 90's, when the spelling of "Boat" suddenly changed to "Bote". Well, to make sure that we are representing all generations, we have shirts available now with both spellings.

So, as a designer, I sort of have a niche. (Disney/JungleCruise/Tiki) The Skipper Store has 6 different designers who do a variety of items, but they are all sort of in that same category. So, I thought, why not broaden the Skipper Store and try playing with a few other designs and styles. They may not be as much of a "click" for our core audience, but why not give them a run, right? This one has a bit of the obvious Kawaii influence, but it was just sort of a starting point for me to play with a whole different look and style.

Laugh at their jokes or your skipper will be your swim instructor.

Richard Wallace is amazing. Both as a Skipper and an artist. I assume this is not a self portrait, as Richard is much taller, and not a cartoon. This and our other new shirt, B is for Bote, are us kicking around some concepts for a children's alphabet board book that will be happening at some point. This was so darn cute, though, we wanted to make it available earlier.

Jung Ho-yeon Squid Game

So, I got asked to put together something as a sticker for the back of Skipper cars, and Skipper Richard Wallace did not disappoint with his artwork. This sticker will proudly, one assume, identify you as a Skipper. (or just a lover of The Jungle Cruise)

It's great seeing LGBTQ representation in Disney movies, and the Jungle Cruise movie (while not overly pronounced) did have a touching moment with Jack Whitehall's character. We had so much demand, we wanted to do something to celebrate this moment...
