The 534th soldiers served for 43 years in Fort Clayton, Panama. They embodied the MP Corps' motto and established an outstanding reputation through their effort in conducting force-protection and -support operations.

. On September 1, 1984, the company relocated from fort Golick to fort Davis, republic of panama. On December 19, 1989, the unit was alerted for operation just cause and served in task force Atlantic with the 7th infantry division (light). During just cause, the company conducted MP missions in colon, coco solo and riot hate to secure the gambol dam and gating locks. Following the cessation of hostilities the unit trained the new Panamanian police and participated in operation promote liberty. For their efforts, the company received the army superior unit award.

The United States Invasion of Panama, code named Operation Just Cause, was an invasion of Panama by the United States between mid-December 1989 and late January 1990. It occurred during the administration of President George H. W. Bush and ten years after the Torrijos–Carter Treaties were ratified to transfer control of the Panama Canal from the U.S. to Panama by 1 January 2000. During the invasion, de facto Panamanian leader, general, and dictator Manuel Noriega was deposed, president-elect Guillermo Endara sworn into office, and the Panamanian Defense Force dissolved.
