Not sure what the real name of this gorge is - we found it on a walking track in Litchfield National Park near Darwin in the Northern Territory, Australia. It was hot, rough and rocky - but the views were spectacular!

A holiday trip to Darwin included an excursion to Litchfield National Park. This was July - mid Winter - but in the tropical Northern Territory it still managed 32º. The walking trail along Litchfield Gorge was rough and rocky, but was rewarded with this view of a waterfall - framed by a Pandanus.

The brilliant red of Wangi Falls in the late afternoon. We spent the full day visiting all the waterholes of Litchfield National Park, but saved Wangi Falls for last, knowing that it was likely to be well-lit during golden hour. It was, and the low sun really emphasised the red colour that is so prominent in Litchfield.
