My Father was a fisherman. Growing up, he was one of the few who knew how to make these cane pots. He used to go out to the bush and find the right vines and bring them home. I was intrigued to see him make these. To him they were just tools to catch Lobsters. today they would be see as pieces of art. This painting is acrylic ink on Fabriano Rosapina 220 gsm acid free paper. Paper size is H25xW30cm Image size 21x25cm.

A digital pencil sketch of Tobermory Harbour on the Isle of Mull in Scotland's Inner Hebrides, seen through lobster pots on the harbour front, This picturesque town is on the east coast of Mishnish, the most northerly part of the island close to the entrance to the Sound of Mull. It began life as a fishing port in 1788, apparently based on designs by the noted engineer Thomas Telford. The quayside is busy with fishing and leisure boats and is also home to the Tobermory Distillery.

The Port of Blyth in Northumberland is on the North East coast of England. This image was shot on a cloudless, bright March morning capturing the massive Off-Shore Jack-up vessel Vole au Vent as well as a small fishing boat berthed next to lobster pots.

The Fish Quay at North Shields is a colourful place at most times of the day, but this image has captured the scene on a sunny September day after the morning business of the Quay had finished.
