This female Kudu was wandering around Chobe National Park, Botswana, around sunset. Unlike male Kudus, the females do not grow antlers. In terms of size, they are similar to American White Tailed Deer.

This female gorilla was part of a much bigger group in Kigali National Park, Uganda. Seeing them up close and personal is a truly fulfilling experience. They are surprisingly gentle creatures.

This gorgeous, regal male lion was sunning himself in the early morning light in Botswana.

In my experience, photographing chimpanzees is second in difficulty only to filming birds! I was really surprised by how active they are. Imagine a 4 year old child who has had way too much caffeine. Now imagine 30 of them in a room unsupervised, and you have a typical chimpanzee troop!

This is a Steenbok, one of the smaller antelopes that you'll sometimes see in South Africa. Look at those ears!
