Time to bury the rust belt and make anew. The Rust Belt is a colloquial term used to describe the region from New York to the Midwest that was once dominated by industrial manufacturing and has been left to rust all these years.

This oil pastel drawing of a classic rusty old car and woman with a rockabilly feel to it is by artist Jacquelyn Lenard of Jacquelynearth. The forge has gone cold

In my tiny hometown of Garah, this old tractor has become an attraction on the corner opposite the Post Office. It looks like it needed cranking up. Check out the back wheels. This rusty sign along route 66 in Santa Rosa is for what may have started out as Sahara restaurant or perhaps the Sahara Club but definitely needed its life as Sahara Package Liquor though even that is now abandoned.

Gundagai, New South Wales, Australia This is part of the Gundagai Rail Viaduct across the Murrumbidgee floodplain - it is 819m long consisting of 72 timber trusses, the longest timber truss structure ever built in Australia, and a steel bridge over the main channel of the river. It was constructed in 1903 when the railway line from Cootamundra to Gundagai was extended to Tumut. The service was discontinued in 1984. Forgotten by time, "Old Blur" and other automobiles were abandoned along a creek bed for erosion control I've been told, in an area known now as the Car Park in Silver City NM. You can't help but wonder the life this car must have seen in its day, the excitement someone must have experiences buying this car new and how it made it to its final resting place here.

A stop in small mountain ghost town of Mogollon, New Mexico is like stepping back into another time. The town has a rich mining history and once was a bustling wild west town, now is mostly a seasonal town with a small number of residents remaining year-round. Digital painting, photographic based.
