Reverse Mermaid Pins and Buttons
Description: Why does a mermaid always have to be woman on top and fish on the bottom? Meet the Fish Top — an alternative approach to aquatic anatomy for those who have always wondered why nobody tried it the other way around. Part fish. Part woman. Questionable proportions. Impeccable heels. A funny twist on the classic mermaid for fans of absurd humor, mythology, ocean jokes, weird art, and anyone who would rather have fish top than fish bottom.
Description: According to one Greek myth, Pisces represents the fish into which Aphrodite and her son Eros transformed in order to escape the monster Typhon, the “father of all monsters”. A similar myth, one in which the fish “Pisces” carry Aphrodite and her son out of danger. Another myth is that an egg fell into the Euphrates river. It was then rolled to the shore by fish. Doves sat on the egg until it hatched, out from which came Aphrodite. As a sign of gratitude towards the fish, Aphrodite put the fish into the night sky.
