I discovered this small historic church in the rural community of Uigg (pronounced U-igg) during my travels of Prince Edward Island, Canada. The elegant simplicity of the Uigg Baptist Church is a testament to the Scottish pioneers who settled the area in 1829, coming from their home in Uig, Isle of Skye. Constructed in 1874, it has the original clapboard siding, with sets of 3 Gothic Revival windows complete with glazing bars and original glass on each side. It is registered as a Historic Place, in the province of Prince Edward Island. I've taken this picture in Scotland while exploring the incredible Isle of Skye.

I like waking up early on a cold Sunday morning (mostly, not always) and having a wander down the nearest canal or river. Here in Glasgow, there was a beautiful crisp sun and the night frost hadn't melted away yet so it created some marvellous intricate decorations on all the vegetation surrounding the canal.

A dramatic sunset provides an amazing backdrop to Stoer Lighthouse in Lairg in the Western Highlands of Scotland. Stoer Head Lighthouse was built on Stoer Head by brothers David and Thomas Stevenson in 1870 after being identified as one of forty-five sites in Scotland where a lighthouse was necessary to protect shipping.

The scenic town of Tobermory, complete with the iconic coloured houses, on the Isle of Mull on a clear sunny spring day, with the snow capped peaks of Ardnamurchan in the distance.
