Templet mountain is a vast mountain in Spitsbergen at the entrance to the Tempelfjorden Fjord. The 766 m mountain's name Templet stems from its resemblance to a ruined Gothic cathedral. Taken in June at the start of the Arctic Summer on Svalbard, the snow on the mountains around Longyearbyen on Spitsbergen has started to melt and much of the surrounding ground is now covered in melted snow and ice water. Silence and a cloudless sky create a sense of solitude and isolation in this unforgiving and rugged Arctic landscape. The Norwegian archipelago of Svalbard is located in the Arctic Ocean some 600 miles from the North Pole. Svalbard was known as Spitsbergen before 1925 when the name was changed and Spitsbergen now refers to the largest island in the group. More than half of Svalbard is covered in glaciers. These mountains, covered in pristine snow are an untouched, silent and serene landscape near to the major town of Longyearben

Tunabreen is a glacier stream in Spitsbergen, Svalbard. The glacier is about 23 km long, divides Sabine Land from Bünsow Land and merges with the Von Postbreen Glacier as they enter Tempelfjorden. Tunabreen has an incredibly beautiful glacier front that takes the breath away from many. The beautiful blue colour is a contrast to the otherwise brown landscape and mountains. The edge of the Nordenskiöldbreen Glacier looks like an alien creature slowly engulfing the rocks beneath, although it is actually retreating from the Billefjord Fjord as the Summer Midnight Sun warms the environment. Nordenskiöld is one of the largest glaciers in the Isfjord region of Spitsbergen, is roughly 16 miles long and is named after the Finnish geologist Adolf Erik Nordenskiöld.
