Thomas Johnstone Lipton (1848-1931), Scottish yachtsman. Lipton, famous for founding the Lipton tea brand, was a keen yachtsman. He competed five times in the America's Cup between 1899 and 1930. This photograph, sent by Lipton to a friend, carried an inscription dated 17 October 1902, referring to himself as skipper of his steam yacht the Erin (purchased 1898). Lipton made his fortune by investing in tea plantations to supply his chain of grocery stores, starting in Glasgow and then extending across the UK. He had been created Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order (KCVO) in 1901, and was made a baronet in 1902.

This design is a collaboration with my 9 year old cat loving son. He is obsessed with cats and being a little boy, butts are also funny. I taught him how to draw a simple cat butt and in the last few years he's probably drawn a thousand. He draws them on the back of almost all of his homework papers. Ha ha.

Our property is near Willunga Hill finish line of the Tour Down Under THE cycling race in the Southern Hemisphere. People park to our driveway to then walk up to see the finish. Often riders come here on the day to have refreshments. With Covid 2020 the race has been cancelled for 2021. Nardoo is widespread, yet uncommon, it grows in wet areas in all states of temperate mainland Australia and it's found growing in habitats from lake sides, to shallow, muddy roadside depressions. Dried up plants, which can look dead, seem to resurrect themselves as winter rains arrive. Individual plants spread by means of a creeping stem. It survives long, hot, dry summers and grows in wet situations. It's one of those typically Australian plant oddities. It looks like a clover, but it's not.
