My days on the Wild Atlantic Way in Ireland often didn't finish before sunset. On this day, though, my decision not to stop in the Connemara on the way north turned out to be a good one. I arrived in Bundoran with enough time to settle in and then head out to the harbour to witness this stunning sunset, which was easily the best sunset I saw in Ireland (and that's saying a lot, since the sky seemed to be filled with colour every night)!

Dingle Peninsula

The Picture Palace is beautiful cinema, designed by de Paor Architects, and built by the harbour docks in Galway, in the west of Ireland. A labyrinth of stairs, cinema halls, a restaurant and bar; some functions are outside, some functions are inside, and all are mysterious. Slightly out of the way but well worth a visit - friendly service, and the food was excellent.

The Cliffs of Moher are a much-visited, spectacular sight, in County Clare on the west coast of Ireland. Here, they are catching the very last of the light, with the sun already just below the horizon.
