The American Expeditionary Forces (A.E.F. or AEF) was a formation of the United States Army on the Western Front of World War I. The AEF was established on July 5, 1917, in France under the command of Gen. John J. Pershing. It fought alongside French Army, British Army, Canadian Army, and Australian Army units against the Imperial German Army. A minority of the AEF troops also fought alongside Italian Army units in that same year against the Austro-Hungarian Army. The AEF helped the French Army on the Western Front during the Aisne Offensive (at the Battle of Château-Thierry and Battle of Belleau Wood) in the summer of 1918, and fought its major actions in the Battle of Saint-Mihiel and the Meuse-Argonne Offensive.

In Flanders Fields Museum is located in the rebuilt Cloth Hall of Ypres Belgium and presents the story of the First World war; many battles were fought in and around the surrounding area.

View into the doorway of the tool room in Battery Mishler at Ft Stevens. The mottled concrete walls and dripping, rusty, stalactite-covered ceiling in the tunnel are illuminated by the glow of a bare light bulb over the entrance--enabling visitors to peer into the darkened gloom within and see a lantern well on the wall.

This now famous statue of a Great War soldier by artist Ray Lonsdale is displayed on the seafront in Seaham, County Durham, in North East England. The statue was originally a temporary feature, but local fundraising resulted in the statue's purchase and it is now a permanent reminder of WW1

looking through the doorway of on of the old telephone rooms at Battery Mishler, Old Fort Stevens, near Hammond, Oregon, an upturned mason jar and a large tin can can be seen in the old lantern well. A metal ladder and a wooden stick from either a broom or a mop peek out from behind the entrance. Because of the fire several decades ago there was not anything else to be seen in the room besides some holes in the distressed concrete walls that used to lead telephone wires to one of those old switchboards that telephone operators used to plug things into to connect calls.

The 92nd Infantry Division (92nd Division, WWI) was a segregated infantry division of the United States Army that served in both World War I and World War II. The division was organized in October 1917, after the U.S. entry in World War I, at Camp Funston, Kansas, with African American soldiers from all states. In 1918, before leaving for France, the American buffalo was selected as the divisional insignia due to the "Buffalo Soldiers" nickname, given to African American cavalrymen by Native Americans in the 19th century. The "Buffalo Soldiers Division" divisional nickname was inherited from the 366th Infantry, one of the first units of the division organized.

Currently, the 330th Regiment consists of three Battalions that fall under the command of the 4th Brigade, 95th Training Division.
