Puerta Vieja y Macetas - Old Door and pots Posters and Art Prints

This wooden door belongs to an old, ruinous house in the little village of Los Molinos del Rio Aguas near Sorbas, Almeria. I thought it would make an interesting subject to paint with the pots of aloe vera on the doorstep and the overhanging, flowering climber, but it was a difficult subject to capture in watercolour as there are so many different textures here with the old walls, wooden door, pots and plants. Also the light was tricky. There is a small, organic and ecological farming community in the village. I guess the aloe vera must have been put here by them.
