Arguably Suffolk's finest seaside town, Southwold is full of character and charm, with its sandy beach lined with beach huts, its red brick and flint cottages, its open spaces 'the greens' (which mark the sites of houses destroyed by a fire in 1659), its lighthouse set back from the sea front, the fine parish church of St Edmund, and last but not least Adnam's brewery.
