Medieval Church in the city of Norwich, Norfolk

Three wonderful buildings for the price of one, all in the centre of Edinburgh, Scotland. St. John's Church at the corner of Princes Street and Lothian Road. The church was built in two years at a cost of £18,000. The foundations were laid in March 1816 and the completed building was consecrated on Maundy Thursday, 19 March 1818. The site, which was a market garden, was bought from the Town Council. The owners of property on the north side of Princes Street obtained in 1816 a private Act of Parliament, which prohibited the erection of any further buildings on the south side and secured their open view of the castle. Behind St. John's Church, you can se the clock tower and spire of St Cuthbert’s church just off Lothian Road.

Man Mo Temple Incense Coils And Prayers This is One of Hong Kong's most famous urban temples, Man Mo Temple sits on busy Hollywood Road in Sheung Wan. This temple was built by Taoists during the colonial era. One of their gods, the god of literature named Man Cheong, was born in AD 287. The other god, Mo, was born in AD 160. It is said that he fought against oppression and injustice and was killed in 219 at the hands of his enemies. There are other idols there too. The smell from the incense coils hit you as soon as you enter this stunning little temple. The little red tags below the coils are prayers that have been written in Chinese before the coil is lit. This is one of my favourites in my collection of rural scenes. I discovered this lovely white church one foggy morning in central Prince Edward Island. Perched on a hill along a country road, I took advantage of natural soft lighting to bring out the warm tones of this memorable pastoral scene. The church is located in Birch Hill, east of Charlottetown. It is the Free Church of Scotland, built in 1880. Images of Canada. Here is a watercolour of the little town of Abrucena in La Alpujarra Almeriense beneath the peaks of the Sierra Nevada mountains. At this time of year the trees have lost most of their leaves and there is snow on the mountain peaks. It makes a good composition though and the winter light and shadows are beautiful. The following series are images taken while walking the streets of Lisbon, Portugal. Narrow streets and alleyways, cars parked on either side of the streets, little shops and stores, bars and restaurants, small churches, all can be found on any of these streets that are full of life and action any time of the day. The view from high on the Tarpon Springs Boulevard (the only real road on the island of Halki, Greece). The closest body of water is Pondamos Bay which has the only sandy beach on the Island. Beyond Pondamos (in the centre of the shot) is the Halki cemetery church, Ags. Soulas. On the hill above the church you can see the three ruined windmills that stand guard above the village of Nimborio (the only settlement on the Island). On the left of the shot is Nimborio Village and its lovely bay. Halki is a small, very charming island, part of the Dodecanese Group of Greek islands, situated opposite the west coast of the Island of Rhodes.
