Elmore Junior High is a major location in The Amazing World of Gumball. It is first shown in the episode, "The Responsible." It is the city of Elmore's local public junior high school. Gumball, Anais, and Darwin all attend this school. Elmore Junior High even has its own cheerleading squad and marching band. The series revolves around the life of a 12-year-old cat named Zach Watterson, but known by the nickname "Gumball" (Logan Grove, seasons 1–2 and season 3 episode: "The Kids"; Jacob Hopkins, rest of season 3 to season 5 episode "The Copycats"; Nicolas Cantu, rest of season 5 onward) and his frequent shenanigans in the fictional American city of Elmore, accompanied by his adopted goldfish brother/best friend Darwin.

Originally an author of westerns, Elmore Leonard became best known as a writer of crime fiction. The Elmore Leonard Design celebrates the distinguished career of one of the best known American writers and the author of such classics as Get Shorty, 3:10 To Yuma, Out of Sight and Raylan.

Joyful Burger is a minor location in The Amazing World of Gumball. It is a fast food restaurant/chain with multiple franchises in Elmore. Its primary employee is Larry, who is the cashier. In "The Menu," multiple Joyful Burger restaurants were shown scattered throughout Elmore, all of which have to be eaten from in order to achieve access to their secret burger, The M'Guffin. As revealed in "The Father," a pear character, Hot Dog Guy, and Pantsbully also work at Joyful Burger, presumably as secondary employees. The mascot of the chain is Burgie the Clown.

Flair Records was an American record label owned by the Bihari brothers, launched in the early 1950s. It was a subsidiary of Modern Records. Its most famous artist were Elmore James, who released ten singles with this label (as listed below), Richard Berry, and Ike Turner who was a session musician and also released a single on the label. Flair is believed to have issued 80 singles total between 1953 and 1955.

Chicago blues musicians include singer-songwriters and bandleaders Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, and Willie Dixon; guitar players such as Elmore James, Luther Allison, and Buddy Guy; and harp (blues slang for harmonica) players such as Little Walter, Paul Butterfield, and Charlie Musselwhite. Since the 1960s, the Chicago blues style and sound has spread around the US, the UK and beyond.

Jackie Brown is a 1997 American crime film written and directed by Quentin Tarantino and starring Pam Grier in the title role, along with Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Forster, Bridget Fonda, Michael Keaton, and Robert De Niro in supporting roles. An adaptation of Elmore Leonard's 1992 novel Rum Punch, the film pays homage to 1970s blaxploitation films, particularly the films Coffy (1973) and Foxy Brown (1974), both of which also starred Grier in the title roles. As Tarantino's third directorial effort following Reservoir Dogs (1992) and Pulp Fiction (1994), it is the only feature-length film that Tarantino has adapted from a previous work.

Chanax International, Inc. is an office building located in Elmore. The corporation that the building serves is named after Mr. Chanax, the alter-ego of Paperball, and the former owner of the company. The goblin has since been his replacement. It is unknown what the corporation primarily does; however, according to Rocky, Chanax, Inc. is reputed for being "pure evil," seeing that they cut down rainforests, contributed to pollution, invented boy bands, and according to Gumball, invented cheese puffs. "The Founder" reveals that the company is a cable service provider also.
