The incredible men of iron are rusting a bit these days, but still braving the waves 24/7 :)

At certain times of the day, the light on the water is beautiful at Crosby beach and makes spooky silhouettes of the Iron men. Sometimes you'd really think it was a real person standing there :)

The Angel of the North is a contemporary sculpture, designed by Antony Gormley, located in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, England. Completed in 1998, it is a steel sculpture of an angel, 20 metres (66 ft) tall, with wings measuring 54 metres (177 ft) across. The wings do not stand straight sideways, but are angled 3.5 degrees forward; Gormley did this to create "a sense of embrace". The angel like much of Gormley's other work is based on a cast of his body. It stands on the hill of Birtley, at Low Eighton in Lamesley, overlooking the A1 and A167 roads into Tyneside, and the East Coast Main Line rail route, south of the site of Team Colliery Camera: Canon EOS 5D

Another Place is a set of 100 iron men sculptures by Antony Gormley. They are set out over 2 miles of beach at Crosby Liverpool.Each figure is 189 cm tall (nearly 6 feet 2½ inches) and weighs around 650 kg (over 1400 lb). In common with most of Gormley's work, the figures are cast replicas of the artist's own body. As the tides ebb and flow, the figures are revealed and submerged by the sea. It's a place that I never tire of!!
