Description: In 1973 Rosenhan and his pals conducted a number of psychological experiments to determine the validity of diagnosis of mental patients. They sent participants to various mental hospitals who all complained of the same symptoms, (hearing voices). None of them were actually insane but all were diagnosed with schizophrenia. All were admitted and made to take anti-psychotic drugs. They then behaved normally and said they no longer had symptoms. There were released but were charged with continuing to take medication and were diagnosed with their condition in remission.
