Black and white animal illustration of a maned wolf. Drawn in ink using one of my own photographs as reference, I used fine black marker pens to create this drawing. Maned wolves (Chrysocyon brachyurus) are a canine found in South America. Although they resemble a fox they are a truly unique species, neither fox nor wolf! The maned wolves have a distinct appearance with very long legs and red brown fur with patches or dark brown or black and large pointed ears.
