Kiwis in Oz have been labelled South Sea Poms. A survey has shown them to be Australia's unhappiest migrants. Some reasons for feeling this way were, being dissatisfied with their financial situation, feeling discriminated against, not feeling safe. New Zealanders in Australia pay tax but are not entitled to benefits etc when they lose their jobs. As Aussies economy slides, more and more people are hurting. Of course many Kiwi's love Australia too. It is a fantastic country. This design features a black Kiwi with the text "South Sea Pom" written in ripped paper style text. POM refers to "Prisoner of Mother England" and is used to refer to English people in NZ and Australia.

Hilton Head Island South Carolina Beach

Keith Black was an American producer of high-performance drag racing engines. Black first made a name for himself in the mid-1940s in boat racing when he set a world record in his second time out at the Salton Sea running one of his first performance engines. He opened Keith Black Racing Engines in 1959 and by 1961 his boat racing exploits included nearly 50 international and national records. Drag racing teams took notice and Black’s builds for the drag strip became one of the winningest engines in the NHRA in the ’60s and his aluminum engine blocks would dominate the market throughout the ’70s. The engines Keith Black produced were based on the Chrysler 426 Hemi, Chevy Big Block, and Oldsmobile Big Block designs.

Bright and lively, this design is intricate and has a lot of fun little elements to look for. Drawn with a Pitt pen and colored with Prismacolor pencils.

*Sea Tractor* Number of views as of 31st March 2019 = 2220. This unusual vehicle is used to allow passengers to embark / disembark the "South Sands Ferry":http://www.redbubble.com/people/redhilldigital/works/12053620-south-sands-ferry at low tide. The tractor reverses out into the water and the bow of the ferry boat docks with the rear of the vehicle allowing the passengers to get off the boat and onto the tractor and vice versa. South Sands is a small cove on the Kingsbridge Estuary, just south of Salcombe, South Devon, England. Date: 14th April 2014.

Taken on the path towards the lighthouse, the walk down was well worth it to get this image. The seas around the Stack are always dramatic and sounds of the waves breaking on the rocks is always melodic and worth while taking time out to listen to. Olympus E400 150mm f/8 1/250th ISO 100 A single frame processed in PS RAW with mainly contrast adjustments made. This is not that far from how it came out from the camera. The finished file was re-sized using On1 Genuine Fractals engine.

This scene was once painted by Hans Heysen. Avril Thomas tried to get into the very spot where he may have sat to paint the picture.For two weeks in August 1925, after the death of their third daughter, Heysen and his family visited the resort town of Victor Harbor, on the Fleurieu Peninsula south of Adelaide. Here, he painted the watercolour Petrel Cove. Sitting on the grass of the saddle of The Bluff at Rosetta Head Heysen painted this winter landscape looking south-west across Petrel Cove towards King Head and Newland Head. Writing to Lionel Lindsay in late 1925 he enthused: ‘You would love the grandeur of this coastline, could you but see it, with something barren and primitive in the contour of the land’.
