The Daleks were created by Davros, the chief scientist of the Kaleds (an anagram of Daleks). Davros removed the Kaleds emotions and put them inside the super-strong Dalek armour, making them the terrifying nemesis they are today.

I have been a fan of Doctor who since the 70s. Over the past few years i have done a series of Paintings from Space and time to pop art splat. This is part of the The time and space series which is making the Doctor and tardis part of the universe and time. The original paintings that these images come from are much bigger and in a Wide screen style. To use these for T shirts etc I have cropped the design and modified them from my original paintings.

Have a pesty human you'd like exterminated? Look no further. Dalek Extermination specialized in destroying all human life. Engineered by the scientist Davros during the final years of a thousand-year war between his people, the Kaleds, and their enemies the Thals. With some Kaleds already badly mutated and damaged by nuclear war, Davros genetically modified the Kaleds and integrated them with a tank-like, robotic shell, removing their every emotion apart from hate. His creations soon came to view themselves as the supreme race in the universe, intent on purging the universe of all non-Dalek life.
