Werefox Posters and Art Prints

The werefox is a supernatural creature, a shapeshifter that transforms between human and fox. Unlike for werewolves, legends of werefoxes are not common in European folklore (though there is one ballad called Reynardine). In Native American legends, there are many stories of shamans that could shapeshift into foxes. In Asian folklore, they go by the names Kitsune, Kumiho, and Huli Jing; though, in those legends, they may have nine tails and be more of a spirit rather than a creature. Three men who are on a foxhunt have encountered a kind of fox they did not expect. At the edge of a dark forest, a mist has arisen, and, from the trees, a monster emerges. It looks like a fox, but stands on two legs. With two huge, clawed hands, this giant werefox glares angrily at the hunters. The hounds have all run off with their tails between their legs and the horses are in a panic. One rider has been thrown to the ground. The other two are doing all they can to stay in the saddle. Werefoxes are well-known mysterious creatures in Chinese and Japanese folktales, these foxes may transform into a woman or a man. In human form they are irresistible and usually seduce the person of interest, they may either steal everything and ruin this person or the opposite - bring great wealth and heavenly happiness.
