Power Records Merch
Description: Beginning in 1974, Power Records produced ‘Book & Record’ sets that included either a 7" 45 rpm record or a 12″ 33 rpm record and a comic book. The record followed along with the comic using sound effects, audio dialogue, and a backing soundtrack. Power Records’ Book & Record sets remain highly desirable collectables, not just due to their pop culture value, but because complete sets with both the record and comic are hard to come by, especially in good condition, as these were loved and well used by children over many years. Power continued to produce these sets until the early '80s.
Description: Launched in 1974, Power Records’ iconic Book & Record sets paired vibrant comic books with immersive audio on 7" or 12" vinyl records. Featuring sound effects, music, and voice acting, these sets brought stories to life for a generation of kids. Today, complete sets in good condition are rare and highly sought-after by collectors due to their nostalgic appeal and cultural significance. Production continued into the early 1980s, leaving behind a treasured legacy of multimedia storytelling.
Description: Who doesn’t like listening to music on vinyl? Growing up I have fond memories of listing to the likes of Weird Al Yankovic, Alice Cooper, Billy Idol, Motley Crue and the WWF Wrestling Album to name a very few. But I also have some good memories of listening to comic books on vinyl…I am sure you long time comic readers remember Power Records released by Peter Pan Records as kids of the 70’s and 80’s grew up with these.
Description: Power Records was a related label, featuring characters licensed from DC Comics and Marvel Comics, and contemporary movies and television series (such as Kojak, Planet of the Apes, The Six Million Dollar Man, Space: 1999, and Star Trek), in stories geared toward older children. The book-and-record sets frequently featured original 20-page comic books along with an extended-play 7" record of the story. Playing the record while reading along in the book brought the story to life through music and sound effects.[4] There were also other 7" single releases. Besides book-and-record sets, LPs were produced, featuring the recorded stories without illustrations.
