However the brand, recipes and other intellectual property associated with the former chain are currently owned by Legendary Restaurant Brands, LLC, the parent company for Bennigan's. Steak and Ale was founded as an independent restaurant chain in Dallas, Texas, on February 26, 1966, by Norman E. Brinker. On July 29, 2008, the chain's remaining 58 locations closed as part of a Chapter 7 bankruptcy proceeding.
Description: Victoria Station was a chain of railroad-themed steakhouse restaurants where you would enjoy your meal while in an old railroad boxcar or caboose while surrounded by railroad artifacts and decor, something that was pretty awesome if you were a kid or a train loving adult. The first location was opened in San Francisco in December 1969. It was a 158-seat restaurant located on the Embarcadero at Broadway that was made out of five boxcars and two cabooses around a central lobby-service area. The restaurant was grossing $90,000 monthly during its first year of operations and at the peak of its popularity in the '70s, the chain had 100 locations in the United States. The chain filed for bankruptcy in 1986, shutting nearly all locations.
