Being a fan of Jay-Z/Sean Carter, I wanted to pay homage to the Hip-Hop Legend. I created this hand carved & printed linoleum block print to honor a pop culture icon who has left a lasting impact in the music world and beyond.

Recently I've been experimenting with printmaking on tetra pak, it's useful because you can destroy it in various ways and come up with very beautiful images, it's a widely acessible material and extremely sensible. For example, I burned, cut, slashed and smashed to name a few of the techniques I used.

A sweet little Nature print that resembles a New Zealand native, the Kiwi.

Techno 3 is my third in a series of individual monotype prints with technology, industry and steam punk as the main themes. Each was created using a gelli plate and hand pulled to produce one original monotype print and one ghost print. I chose to print in blue as I had in mind the colour of architectural drawings like blueprints.

Printmaking can get messy. One moment you are carving your piece into a woodblock and the next your thumb is lying on the floor.

This is a print from a series of hand pulled monoprints produced using water based inks, hot glue gun and a gelli plate.

I liked the ghost prints as much as the originals so decided to post them here as well - they may look good in the home decor range when matched with the originals - light and dark colour contrast with the same design.

I miss making cmyk screenprints! This hypselodoris bennetti is just the perfect color scheme and looks really cool on black and darker colors. What do you think?

Chine Colle adds something to a print. Fuzzy Abstract

Rollers used to spread ink used in printmaking.

Since I am no longer a student, my access to the studio and equipment is very limited. I went into my front yard and spread ink onto this leave and transferred it onto a piece of paper. I love fall weather and I love printmaking so this was my quick and easy way of showing homage.
