It's no coincidence that these lens flares occur - it is a matter of precisely controlling parameters to create such a subject matter... Granted some lenses produce much more stark - even brilliant lens flare, yet - it is still a matter of controlling the amount of light entering the lens and angle of incidence in particular... This image I have called "The Soviet Star" although the sun doesn't belong to the Russians... the lens which created such rainbow colours was and is now mine!!! :D I believe it is the parameters of the lens and the multi-coating which creates such characteristics - accentuated in post ~ of course! :P Sony A7

I'm really enjoying photography out in the field at the moment - even more-so than I ever have... Maybe its the fresh autumnal air and being at peace surrounded by snowdonia and its nature..? Transcribing these moments and conveying them via the camera is becoming easier to me - understanding more now ~ just how certain lenses work and capture light. Here, sycamore leaves sway in the breeze as the low setting late summer sun dips behind the trees. The lens rendering light in a subtle yet distinct way... Hopefully evoking a feeling of being under a canopy of shadow, shade and texture... A soft 'dappled' light. alpha A7
