Unfortunately, reality had other plans. What followed was a brief moment of chaos, a generous amount of regret, and the immediate realization that some instincts should probably be ignored. It was one of those situations where everything happens far too quickly, yet somehow the embarrassment lasts forever. This is the lesson learned: not every falling object needs to be saved.

Violence was golden as America struggled to define itself, but the struggle helped shape the character of the USA, and came to define the hard-working, hard-fighting, hard-drinking American immigrant.
