Energy Shorts
Description: This is Rob Corddry’s Russian energy drink from Hot Tub Time Machine. Here he describes the ingredients. The incredibly deep use of Chernobly as the movie’s core plot device at first made it my top choice for converting to real-life product: Corddry spills Chernobly on the hot tub controls which is how they go back to WinterFest 1986, then some Red Dawn obsessed party adversaries steal their last can and they can’t get back until they recover it. Meanwhile the Chernobyl nuclear disaster occurred in real-life 1986. And as we all know from Back To The Future, time travel won’t work without some sort of nuclear-level energy. A deep plot device indeed.

Description: Jolt Cola was a carbonated soft drink originally made by The Jolt Company of Rochester, New York. From the outset, Jolt’s marketing strategy centered on the caffeine content, billing the drink as a means to promote wakefulness, including a slogan of “All the sugar and twice the caffeine.” The highly caffeinated beverage was targeted towards students and young professionals, stressing its use as a stimulant in a similar manner as energy drinks. Jolt Cola is featured in the 1995 movie ‘Hackers’ as the hosts of a pirate television broadcast claim to be sponsored by the beverage and advertise Jolt Cola as “the soft drink of the elite hacker.”

Description: A powerful and raw artwork that captures the explosive energy of Soundgarden, one of the pioneering forces of the American grunge and heavy metal movement. Rendered in a distressed, high-contrast style, the design showcases a dynamic figure mid-performance, drenched in motion and fury, framed by the bold vertical typography of “SOUNDGARDEN.” The imagery embodies the chaotic spirit of the band’s music—fusing heavy riffs, haunting vocals, and an untamed stage presence. With its vintage poster vibe and visceral intensity, this piece stands as a tribute to Soundgarden’s enduring impact on rock history.

The fire in her, incessant, unquenchable the thirst for voyages never concludes our lives upon radiant and parallel bands and ceaselessly, folding into creases she is saturated in purple she is imbued in white there are florets in her mind there are mandalas in her flight pirouetting in the movements of awakening the nature of this earthly blood she dances in the rivers she is naked in the mire I am sure I’ve seen her before in some other worldly trial she liquesces into her flood unbound from what she shuns what comes to her is magic and what comes from her is love . . .
