The Battle of Little Bighorn saw the confederated Lakota tribes along with the Northern Cheyenne defeat the 7th Cavalry under Lt. Col. George Armstrong Custer on June 25, 1876, annihilating Custer's battalion, an event that came to be known as Custer's Last Stand.
