Description: Postcard Records was a British, Glasgow-based independent record label founded by Alan Horne in 1979, as a vehicle for releases by Orange Juice and Josef K. The label's motto was "The Sound of Young Scotland",[1] a parody/tribute to the Motown motto; its logo featured a cartoon cat beating a drum. Although short-lived, Postcard was a key influence on the C81 and the later C86 indie-pop movements.

Description: Nicholas "Nick" Currie (born 11 February 1960), more popularly known under the artist name Momus (after the Greek god of mockery), is a Scottish songwriter, author, blogger, and former journalist for Wired. For over thirty years he has been releasing albums on labels in the United Kingdom, the United States, and Japan. In his lyrics and his other writing he makes seemingly random use of decontextualized pieces of continental (mostly French) philosophy, and has built up a personal world he says is "dominated by values like diversity, orientalism, and a respect for otherness."
Description: Known by its slogan, "America's Best Buy In Recorded Music", Springboard was founded in New Jersey in December, 1968 and was one of the most active budget labels during the 1970s. Initially operating as a subsidiary of Springboard International Records, Inc., in 1974 it acquired parts of the Scepter Records catalog from its founder, Florence Greenberg. In 1976, it acquired Musicor Records from its owner Art Talmadge. As a result, it routinely issued cut-rate compilations culled from the Scepter and Musicor catalogs as well as "Top of the Pops"-style Top 40 sound-a-like cover-version records, both of which were sold in K-Mart and other popular department stores.
