Simone De Beauvoir Merch
Description: SIMONE DE BEAUVOIR - THE ACTION FIGURE! Feminists rejoice, because here is the author of The Second Sex – that ground-breaking tome which caused (some) men around the world to finally sit up and take notice that women were fed up and darn well weren't going to take it anymore – in miniature plastic form, with a cartload of tiny accessories, PRINTED ON STUFF!! Sure, it's not the same as having the actual action figure, but did you really think the patriarchy would allow this to be manufactured and use up good plastic that could be used for more useful things like disposable razors or drinking straws or athletic supporters? I mean come ON, get real!! But also get this design on your favourite product!
Description: Simone Lucie Ernestine Marie Bertrand de Beauvoir was a French writer, intellectual, existentialist philosopher, political activist, feminist and social theorist. Though she did not consider herself a philosopher, she had a significant influence on both feminist existentialism and feminist theory.
Description: Simone de Beauvoir quote: On the day when it will be possible for woman to love not in her weakness but in strength, not to escape herself but to find herself, not to abase herself but to assert herself — on that day love will become for her, as for man, a source of life and not of mortal danger.
