Description: Deathstalker, also known as El Cazador de la Muerte, is a 1983 Argentine-American fantasy-action film. Packed with ample barbarian bravado, gratuitous nudity, and over-the-top violence — all staples of early '80s fantasy cinema — Deathstalker is a gloriously trashy entry in the sword-and-sorcery genre. This initial entry follows the titular character as he is sent by a witch on a quest to retrieve several magical artifacts and defeat an evil sorcerer. Along the way, viewers are treated to copious amounts of blood, boobs, magic, and barbarism from an uncivilized age that all add up to make Deathstalker a true VHS cult classic.

Description: Long before streaming movies and online shopping was a thing, you had to hunt and peck for hard to find movies on VHS, especially those in the horror genre. If you were lucky, you had a mom and pop video store in your neighborhood that shared an interest in obscure cinema and carried stuff that the chain video rental places didn’t. For most of us, this meant finding a distribution company that sold direct via mail order, and Midnight Video was one such distributor. Midnight Video specialized in hard to find movies on VHS, most of which were horror films. They sold through ads in the back of horror magazines and comic books, so Cinephiles would send off a check or money order, and wait for their tapes to arrive.

If you were lucky, you had a mom and pop video store that shared an interest in obscure cinema and carried stuff that the chain video rental places didn't. For most of us, this meant finding a VHS mail order business. A subsidiary of Los Angeles based adult film distributor, Select-a-Tape, Midnight Video specialized in low-budget exploitation horror films in stylish VHS display packaging. They sold through mail order ads in the back of horror magazines and comic books. Cinephiles would check off the boxes next to the titles they wanted, write a check, and then send off their order.

Description: Wizard Video was a VHS video distribution company that was well-known for its detailed (and often lurid) box art, especially during the time that it sold videocassettes in larger than standard boxes. Los Angeles-based Wizard was a subsidiary of Empire International Pictures, a small film studio. Wizard's videocassettes were originally duplicated by L.A. based Sound/Video Unlimited. Between 1982 and 1987, Wizard released 96 movies on VHS, almost all of which are horror flicks and sex comedies.

Description: Also known as Street Fleet, D.C. Cab is an American comedy movie released in 1983. The film follows the misadventures of a group of unfortunate but streetwise cabbies working for a decrepit taxicab company in Washington, D.C. Despite featuring '80s icon Mr. T as part of an ensemble cast, D.C. Cab was a crude and bawdy R rated flick that was anything but family-friendly, leaving many critics and theatergoers less than thrilled with the film.
Description: Class of 1984 is a thriller film that ruffled plenty of feathers when it was released in 1982, resulting in the film receiving various 18+ ratings as well as being banned in several countries. Today, the movie is considered an '80s exploitation classic, thanks to the over the top '80s fashions and period correct soundtrack. The story focuses on a new teacher as he arrives at his new school, only to find out he's gotten more than he bargained for. The school is overrun with graffiti, vandalism, violence, drugs, and gangs. Long story short, he has to take matters into his own hands to stop the gang who has chosen to cross some rather serious lines.
Description: Maximum Overdrive is a 1986 American horror film theatrically released on July 25, 1986, to both critical and commercial failure. The story takes place after a comet-induced radiation storm on Earth causes machines to come to life and turn against their makers on a worldwide killing spree. Holed up in a North Carolina truck stop, a group of survivors must fend for themselves against the mechanized killers. A diner cook, Bill Robinson, emerges as the unlikely leader of the pack, attempting to find an escape plan for himself and the survivors, who include his boss, Bubba Hendershot, and a newlywed couple. Despite being a box office flop, the film went on to become a cult classic and maintains a solid fan base for its mindless destruction.
