I thought it would combine quite nicely for a funny and cute t-shirt design that I as a nerdy fan would love.
Description: The Last Starfighter is a sci-fi adventure movie released in 1984. The film tells the story of high schooler Alex Rogan, who conquers the Starfighter video game, only to find out it was just a recruiting test from an alien race in search of high performing starfighter pilots. Alex gets transported to another planet, where he learns that has been recruited to join a team of the best starfighters in the universe to defend their world from a hostile alien race.
Description: Contra is a legendary run-and-gun video game originally developed as a coin-operated arcade game by Konami in 1986 and officially released in 1987. The game quickly became a worldwide commercial success, ranking among the top four highest-grossing arcade games of 1987. Due to its massive popularity, Contra was ported to home consoles and computers in 1988, including the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), where it received both critical acclaim and commercial success. These home versions helped cement Contra’s status as one of the most iconic retro action games of all time.
Description: Tempest is an arcade game released in 1981 that is notable for being the first video game with a selectable difficulty. The game is a Tube Shooter, where the environment is fixed, but is viewed from a 3D perspective. The object is to survive while shooting aliens as they attack from the player controlled spaceship along the near edge of the playfield. The game has 16 unique screens, some of which are tubes that allow the player to fly 360° while others are left to right open fields. When all 16 screens have been played, the sequence repeats with different colors and increased difficulty. Each sequence of levels adds faster and more deadly enemies. The numbered levels stop incrementing after level 99 and become random.

Description: As the '80s approached, American Motors’ public relations people needed a marketing gimmick to engage with the public. They came up with a nationwide tour of concept vehicles designed to remind Americans of AMC’s strong suit - small cars that were domestically built, economical to operate, and designed to cater to their lifestyle. Calling it the “Concept 80” tour, AMC created seven different design concepts and at each stop on the tour, the public was asked to vote for their favorite of which, the AM Van the clear winner. The AM Van concept was built on their existing Pacer platform and aside from its wild styling, was to be turbocharged and 4WD, though the concept was never actually fitted with a powertrain or a finished interior.
Description: Star Frontiers is a space opera role-playing game that is set near the center of a spiral galaxy. A previously undiscovered quirk of the laws of physics allows starships to jump to "The Void," a hyperspatial realm that greatly shortens the travel times between inhabited worlds, once they reach 1% of the speed of light. Four races — Dralasite, Humans, Vrusk, and Yazirian — have independently discovered this way of travelling vast distances, and in "The Frontier Sector," they form the United Planetary Federation (UPF). A large number of the star systems shown on the map of the Frontier sector in the basic rule book are unexplored and undetailed, allowing the game master to put whatever they wish there.
Description: Robotron: 2084 is a multidirectional arcade shooter released in 1982. The game is set in a fictional world in the year 2084 where robots have turned against humans in a cybernetic revolt. The aim is to defeat endless waves of robots, rescue surviving humans, and earn as many points as possible. A two-joystick setup was implemented to provide the player with more precise controls, and enemies with different behaviors were added to make the game challenging. Gameplay was designed to instill panic in players by presenting them with conflicting goals and having on-screen projectiles coming from multiple directions.

Description: Space Ace is a LaserDisc based video game released in December 1983. Like its predecessors, it featured film-quality animation played back from a LaserDisc. Gameplay required the player to move the joystick or press the fire button at key moments in the animated sequences to decide the hero's actions. There is also the occasional option to either temporarily have the character transform into his adult form or remain as a boy with different styles of challenge. The arcade game was a commercial success in North America, but was unable to achieve the same level of success as its predecessors.
