In Hebrew, the word "TSALAL" was used in the Old Testament to say "to be, to become, or to grow dark." In the literary industry, the first English writer to have gained notoriety for using this word was Edgar Allan Poe. He used the word in his 1838 story, entitled The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym of Nantucket. In the story, Tsalal was the name of the mysterious Antarctic island that a group of violent and cannibalistic natives inhabited. This story was later continued by Julius Verne, 50 years after Poe died in his 1897 story, entitled An Antarctic Mystery.
Description: Season 4 of True Detective is set in the town of Ennis, Alaska, located 150 miles north of the Arctic Circle, as a banner of text makes clear early on in the Jan. 12 premiere. With Jodie Foster as the lead, and Issa López as the new writer and director, the fourth season follows the disappearance of eight men from a research station and how it might be linked to the unsolved murder of an indigenous woman. There's also a ghost named Travis. Ennis isn't a real town, but the show was based on a real area in the northernmost state: North Slope Borough, Alaska.

For instance, the crab processing plant where we meet Kali Reis’s Evangeline Navarro is named “Blue King,” which also seems like a callback to Chambers. Could it be related to The Yellow King?
