Dining Rooms Socks
Description: We have some wonderful architecture in Liverpool including England's only Grade 1 listed Victorian Pub, The Philharmonic Dining Rooms, more commonly known as The Philharmonic Pub or just "The Phil", It is a "Cathedral among pubs", with spectacular interior Art Nouveau decoration. It was built between 1898 and 1900 and designed by famous Liverpool architect Walter W. Thomas and has been described as a "Gin Palace of outstanding architectural quality". It is situated between Liverpool's two cathedrals in Hope Street and was a favourite watering hole for The Beatles in their early days. Paul McCartney revisited it in 2018 with James Corden and did a surprise gig for the unsuspecting drinkers Well worth a visit if you are ever lucky enough...
