Description: Vintage political ad from the 1952 United States Presidential election pitting Adlai Stevenson against Dwight D. Eisenhower. The ad reads " Don't let this happen to you! Vote for Ike! " and depicts a shoe with a hole worn through the bottom. The ad makes reference to a famous photograph of Stevenson, who, while seated had one leg crossed over the other and a hole was clearly seen in his shoe. A newsman snapped a photograph of the pose and the resulting photo was seen in newspapers across the US.
