Description: Tom Baker played the Fourth Doctor from 1974 to 1981 - the longest tenure as the time traveling alien from Gallifrey. He seems to be the Doctor that all Doctors are invariably compared to - he was funny, witty, dramatic, unpredictable, adventurous, and eccentric. His iconic scarf came about when the costume designer commissioned a lady to knit a colorful scarf. He gave her a bunch of wool and simply told her to go at it. And so she did, knitting the scarf until she used all the wool she'd been given. By the time she finished, the scarf was long enough to wrap around Baker's neck and still have both ends drag on the floor despite his 6' 3" height. About 24 feet. "There's no point being grown up if you can't be childish sometimes."
