In 1922, a 13-unit bungalow court was added, and by the 1950s, it operated as the Hollywood Center Motel, offering amenities like a "super heated pool" and continental breakfast. The motel has a storied past, featured in films and TV shows such as L.A. Confidential, The Rockford Files, and the 1972 film Hit Man. However, it gained notoriety for its seedy reputation, including a 1963 armed robbery and a 1986 murder linked to the Billionaire Boys Club
Description: The original Chinese Theatre was commissioned following the success of the nearby Grauman's Egyptian Theatre, which opened in 1922, both of which are in Exotic Revival style architecture. Built by a partnership headed by Sid Grauman over 18 months starting in January 1926, the theater opened May 18, 1927, with the premiere of Cecil B. DeMille's The King of Kings.
