The Bionic Woman series features Jaime Sommers, who takes on special high-risk government missions using her superhuman bionic powers. Jaime first appears in a two-part episode of The Six Million Dollar Man in 1975 titled "The Bionic Woman." It's after a skydiving accident that Jaime is rebuilt similar to her Six Million Dollar Man boyfriend, Steve Austin, in exchange for going to work as an operative of the Office of Scientific Intelligence (OSI) where he works as a secret agent.

Description: The Office of Scientific Intelligence (OSI) is a semi-secret organization under the direction of Oscar Goldman and through which Steve Austin and Jaime Sommers perform operative duties. A division of the United States Department of State and therefore within the purview of its Secretary, (Jaime and the King, The Solid Gold Kidnapping) the OSI's activities primarily center around the creation and protection of new technologies vital to national defense. It has occasionally sent agents on more traditional diplomatic details, especially when those missions would benefit from the unique technologies it has developed. Rarely, the OSI has been used as the lead Federal agency on fairly ordinary domestic crises.
