Description: Live Aid was a dual-venue benefit concert held on July 13, 1985, and an ongoing music-based fundraising initiative. The original event was organized by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to raise funds for relief of the ongoing Ethiopian famine. Billed as the "global jukebox," the event was held simultaneously at Wembley Stadium in London (attended by 72,000 people) and John F. Kennedy Stadium in Philadelphia (attended by about 100,000 people). On the same day, concerts inspired by the initiative happened in other countries, such as the Soviet Union, Canada, Japan, Yugoslavia, Austria, Australia, and West Germany. It was one of the largest-scale satellite link-ups and television broadcasts of all time.
Description: The girls arrive at the lake party in a VW bus as the men finish their sproinging practice for the fun to come. Shayne Wallace (AKA Shani Wallis) sings about men... tall ones, small ones, etc... and blesses them all. This song probably originated with British personnel in India in 1880 but really became popular in WWII. The song is well done by Shani (or is it Shayne?) even though the video includes the "look what I caught fishing" bikini gag. The scopitone ends with the women leaving in their VW bus.
