Description: In 1964, Magilla Gorilla #3 from Gold Key Comics posed an important question: if donkeys and elephants could run for office, why not a gorilla? Magilla promptly threw his hat into the political ring, setting off a comical rivalry with his fellow cartoon characters. The producers of The Magilla Gorilla Show embraced the gag and expanded it into a mock presidential campaign timed to coincide with the real 1964 election between President Lyndon B.
