The voodoo doll, a source of much humor in the film, has become an iconic part of baseball pop culture, and official merchandise, such as action figures and bobbleheads, is available for purchase. In the movie, the character Pedro Cerrano uses the voodoo doll, named Jobu, to help him with his hitting. He gives the doll cigars and rum, and famously says, "Is very bad to steal Jobu's rum".
