Description: Oil exploration in Michigan began with a discovery at Saginaw Field in 1925. As the oil there started to dwindle, it looked as if Michigan would soon be dry and no longer of interest to companies. But a new well found in Muskegon Field officially put the state on the map. The Muskegon Oil Company (now known as the Muskegon Development Company) was founded in 1926 by Charles Myler and Stanley Daniloff. Musgo was the official gasoline brand of the company. The company was only around about two years, so Muskgo signs today are very rare and highly sought after.
