Description: This design comes from a cartoon by the Industrial Workers of The World (IWW) in 1920, which depicts a spider labeled "Wall St." atop a web labeled "capitalism" spun across all of society, including the press, law, education, banks, mines, factories, harbors, and train lines. They spread lies and misinformation that said whites were superior to blacks, and then gave them slightly higher status so the two groups would fear and resent each other, and thereby continue to serve their rich masters.
